About

About Muso Action — our mission, story, and company profile.

01Mission

Toward a society where everyone can find fulfillment. Let robots take on simple, repetitive work, so people reclaim the work of thinking and creating.

02Story

Why physical AI, and why now

Robots have always been specialists in fixed work. For decades, industrial robots have welded and painted faster and more precisely than people — but only for jobs where the same items arrive at the same place and are handled with the same motion. Work where every day looks different — different items, different placement, space shared with people — makes up most of Japan's workplaces, and robots could never touch it.

That assumption is starting to change, because the intelligence of generative AI has met the body of the robot. Robot foundation models (VLA) see through cameras, understand language, and move an arm — all with a single AI. Instead of writing programs, robots learn from human motion. Robotics around the world is racing toward its “ChatGPT moment.”

But a clever brain alone can't hold down a job on site. The delicate force it takes to pick up something fragile. The know-how that differs by industry. And deployment fast enough to start working without teaching from scratch. With Muso-roid — industry-specific robot foundation models combined with smart force control — we build physical AI made to work on real sites, not just in demos.

Japan, where the workforce keeps shrinking, can be the first country where physical AI becomes the norm. That future takes shape only when the voices of the field, the passion of engineers, and the wisdom of partners come together. Let's build the “new normal” of the future, together.

03Team

Team

Launching robot businesses, generative-AI motion generation, force control. Our team brings together professionals from the front lines of each field.

Ryutaro Murayama

CEO

  • Led business development and product management for Pepper at SoftBank Robotics, LOVOT at GROOVE X, and Kachaka (a transport robot) at Preferred Robotics.
  • Handled business alliances for Alexa at Amazon and Clova at LINE. Drove platform growth and new business development leveraging speech recognition and NLP.
  • Well versed in enterprise robotics, from business planning to customer development and product development management.

Kou Kikutake

Head of Robotics

  • Former lead engineer at Mujin and Rapyuta Robotics; product development at KEYENCE.
  • Led product planning and development for industrial robotics — a specialist across the full product lifecycle, from hardware and software architecture selection and design through deployment.
  • Has run numerous voice-of-customer programs in the automation industry, with strengths in the requirements definition and technology selection unique to robotics and automation.

Ryo Watanabe

Head of AI

  • After SONY, led the VLA team at Telexistence.
  • Expert in imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and related algorithms. Leads everything from large-scale data collection to training-pipeline implementation and validation.
  • Collaborates with US frontier companies such as Physical Intelligence, bringing the latest VLA technology in-house.
  • His reinforcement learning research at ETH Zürich had two papers accepted at ICRA 2025.
