Full-time

Systems Integration Engineer

About the role

A position that turns Muso-roid, our general-purpose robot worker, into systems that run at customer sites. You integrate the control, planning, and perception modules to each customer's requirements, and lead the technical side from data collection and on-robot inference of learned models through to proof-of-concept trials in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Customer-facing integration development of control, planning, and perception modules
  • Software development for data-collection systems (cameras, robot joint data, etc.)
  • Develop and optimize software that runs learned-policy inference on real robots
  • Lead proof-of-concept trials at customer sites (experiment design, on-site bring-up, isolating hardware/software/model issues, driving improvement cycles)
  • Integration development of new robot systems, including mobile manipulators

Why this role

  • Work across both development and the field, seeing the software you wrote through to running at customer sites
  • Build systems combining physical AI with classical robotics, on real machines
  • Work with a wide range of robots: manipulators, mobile robots, and mobile manipulators
  • As a founding-phase member, design from zero how integration and field trials themselves are run

Required

  • Software development experience on real robots (manipulators or mobile robots such as AMRs)
  • Development experience in Python and C++
  • Development experience on Linux
  • Experience developing with AI coding tools
  • Able to travel domestically

Nice to have

  • Development experience with both arms and AMRs, or with mobile manipulators
  • Experience with deployments or proof-of-concept trials at customer sites
  • Deep development experience in control, planning, or perception
  • Experience integrating ML-model inference on real robots
  • Experience developing data-collection or teleoperation systems for robot learning

Who we're looking for

  • You insist on building robots that are truly used and relied on in the field — not built for demos
  • You enjoy the absence of structure, and can design and establish things from zero to one
  • You welcome autonomy and speed in a small team, and drive yourself forward

Employment & salary

  • Employment: full-time
  • Salary: 7M–16M JPY (depending on experience and skills)
  • Working style: discretionary labor system for professional work

Location

Daini TOC Bldg. 6F, 7-21-11 Nishi-Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo (with domestic travel)

Benefits

  • Full social insurance
  • Two days off per week (Sat/Sun) and national holidays
  • 20 days of paid leave, granted from the first year
